Dr. Eliza Tsai-Lin is an active pianist, regularly performing in solo and ensemble settings in the United States, with international performances in Europe, Asia, and Canada. Eliza won a competition at the American Protégé International Piano and Strings Competition and performed at Carnegie Hall in 2018. For her Ph.D. dissertation, Eliza examined the effects of native linguistic upbringing on music learning and performance. She has presented her findings at conferences across the country, including the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) and Music Teachers National Associations (MTNA).

Eliza is also deeply committed to passing her knowledge and love of music to young musicians. She holds a Ph.D. in Piano Pedagogy from Texas Tech University, a Master of Music in Piano Performance from the University of Oklahoma, and a Bachelor of Music in Music Performance and Education from Taipei Teachers College.

Along with being an active performing pianist, Eliza is passionate about passing the joy of playing the piano and the skills required for successful performance for students of all ages.

Eliza was recognized as Teacher of the Year and served as President of the Plano Music Teachers’ Association for the 2019-2020 academic year. She was also the recipient of the 2022 Steinway Top Teacher Award. She is very active in supporting local music communities across Texas. 

Eliza feels strongly that studying music is a rewarding and joyous experience for students of all levels and abilities.
